In addition to the company, six other people, employees at the time of the alleged facts, are in the crosshairs of the Quebec stock market policeman. The latter announced on Friday the issuance of a report identifying 31 violations.
H. Grégoire is the subject of 14 offences, including 12 for his practices in selling an insurance product to his clients. The other two counts relate to failure to disclose. The Autorité did not identify the dealers concerned or the period when the offenses were allegedly committed.
The AMF affirms that its investigation made it possible to conclude “several breaches” on the part of the dealer and some of its employees in the context of “the distribution without a representative of insurance products”.
“Reports made to the AMF by consumers report several breaches, in particular to the effect that the insurance product had been sold without consent or even presented as being mandatory to conclude the transaction”, explains the regulator.
With regard to the six other persons concerned, the AMF accuses them of questionable maneuvers with regard to the sale of insurance products.
“There is no procedure in this case,” said AMF spokesperson Jean-Maurice Bouchard. This is indeed the issue of a statement of offense and it has not yet been filed in the court file. Following the recording of a plea by the defendants, the court will have to rule in light of the evidence that will be presented before it. »
H. Grégoire, which was founded in 1993, operates 31 dealerships, including 20 in Quebec. The company did not respond to questions sent by The PressFriday afternoon.
