Freshly released on cinema screens in Quebec, the film December 23written by India Desjardins and directed by Miryam Bouchard, finds itself in the official selection of the 26e Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival.
The feature film featuring an impressive line-up of actors including Virginie Fortin, Bianca Gervais, François Arnaud, Catherine Brunet, Stéphane Rousseau, Michel Barrette, Guylaine Tremblay, Christine Beaulieu and Marie-Hélène Thibault will thus benefit from a significant international showcase; the Alpe d’Huez festival, which takes place from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 January 2023, is the first major cinema event of the year and the only major event dedicated to comedy films.
The festival jury, chaired this year by French actress Karin Viard, is made up of Quebec comedian Antoine Bertrand, French comedians and comedians Camille Chamoux and Bérengère Krief, as well as Parisian director and author Stéphane Foenkinos.
In theaters since November 25, December 23 is a choral film that tells the story of several protagonists whose destinies intertwine on this day before Christmas Eve.
