The Russian strike on a supermarket in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kostiantynivka has left at least 10 dead and 35 injured, according to a new report released by the Ukrainian Interior Minister on Friday, August 9. Ukraine claims to have struck “successfully”“a Russian military airbase. Russia said it had been targeted by numerous drone attacks overnight, particularly in the Lipetsk region, nearly 300 kilometres from the border with Ukraine. “During the attack, depots with guided aerial bombs and other facilities in the area of the airbase were hit”the Ukrainian General Staff said.

A Ukrainian army raid into Russia. Since Tuesday, more than a thousand Ukrainian soldiers, around ten tanks and around twenty armoured vehicles have been taking part in an incursion into the Russian region of Kursk. “Russia brought war to our country and should feel it” the effects, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his speech on Thursday evening, without directly mentioning the incursion.
