The world of cycling has been in mourning since this weekend after the tragic death of one of its own, Suleiman Kangangi. The cyclist is one of the very best African cyclists and at 33, he has already won many races. Last weekend he traveled to the United States and more specifically to the state of Vermont to participate in a race that took place on August 27. During this gravel race called the Vermont Overland, the Kenyan runner suffered a terrible fall while going very fast and as reported by his team on Sunday, the sportsman did not survive his injuries.
“Sule Kangangi tragically lost his life yesterday after crashing at high speed during a race in Vermont”, said Team Amani on its Instagram account, posting many photos of its rider, who will leave a big void within the team. A member of the German Bike Aid team between 2017 and 2020, Suleiman Kangangi is a celebrity in Kenya and a respected man. “Sule is our captain, our friend, our brother. He is also a father, a husband and a son. Gaping holes are left when giants fall. Sule was a giant. Instead of leading us to the front of the pack, he will now guide us as a North Star, as we move forward in achieving his dream.”continues its formation in its beautiful message.
The Vermont Overland is completely heartbroken. We send our deepest condolences
