For a long time, Princess Micaela and Henri, Count of Paris, stood together to impose their love on the monarchy. It was them against the rest of the world, it is now for eternity. The widow breathed her last at the age of 83 in the apartment she lived in rue de Miromesnil in Paris. It was Jean, the son of Count Henri, who shared the sad announcement on his Facebook profile: “Her Royal Highness Princess Micaela, whom my father married in second marriage, died this Sunday, March 13, 2022. I assure her son Alexis Francis-Boeuf and his relatives of my sincere condolences“he wrote Monday, the day after his disappearance. A death that could almost be described as a rebirth for the one who suffered from living without the man of her life for three years.
“Everything here reminds me of Henri… It’s not good, but sometimes I still resent him for not having taken me with him. To not be there. I relied on him a lot. We got up together every morning and left only when he was entertaining or going to rue de Lévis to do the shopping. We were a bit weird to each other, but our quirks blended in with each other and it was wonderful to be together.” she confided in 2019 in an interview, her last, for the magazine Point of view. Micaela had come back to their meeting, first professional before love at first sight bound the two lovers forever.
Despite the warnings of his family, Count Henri leaves his wife and children to settle with Micaela: “My studio was 28m2. We’re a little tight and that’s all“. The couple survives the rumors and sticks that everyone has tried to put in their wheels: “We were simply paying for having our love lived out in the open. Everything was tried to separate us“. But in love, nothing is impossible. Micaela and Henri say ‘yes’ to each other in 1984, ignoring the consequences. They will have been right. From pariah status, the couple will end up taming and integrating the rest of the family.
This supreme happiness lasts until 2019 for Micaela: “[Henri] had prepared for the commemorative mass of the death of Louis XVI but he felt tired and telephoned to say that he could not come. He lay down next to me. […] When the nurse arrived for my treatment, I told her not to speak too loudly, the prince is sleeping. She leaned towards him and undeceived me. ‘Madame, he’s dead'”. After being rushed to hospital for a pulmonary embolism, Micaela did not even have the opportunity to attend his funeral. Three years later, she finally joined him for the eternity. Nothing can ever separate them.
