Best-selling historical novelist Diane Lacombe died Monday at the age of 70.
The original Trifluvienne, who fought cancer for many years, died surrounded by her loved ones, announced the publishing house Quebec America.
She wrote until the end, signing during the last year three distinct works, either The Chatelaine of Mallaig CastleEnglish edition of the best-selling novel The Chatelaine of Mallaig, The Wolf’s Toothhistorical fiction describing the life of his ancestors in New France at the end of the 17th centurye century, and Hart’s four daughters. This sentimental period novel and tribute to Jane Austen tells the story of four resourceful sisters who seek to take control of their destiny.
Having worked for a long time in the world of communications, Diane Lacombe had taken the turn of writing around the year 2000, to come to devote herself to it full time a few years later.
Released in 2002 by VLB publisher, his first novel, The chatelaine of Maillag, sold over 400,000 copies. Note that the titles of the series Mallaig’s Clan have been translated into Spanish, English and Czech, among others.
