“It is sure that the city will do something, we will look at that fairly quickly. I know that the city council wants to do something significant because it has been quite an ambassador for Alma. A committee will be formed to take a closer look and come up with a legacy worthy of this great man and this great artist who represented us so well,” said Ms.me Beaumont, at Log.

Already since 2011, the 780-seat performance hall in Alma bears the name of Michel Côté. Could another place bear the name of the one who left us on Monday at the age of 72? All options will be studied, says the mayor.

“It can look like many things. I want to do things well and have a good result.”

Shocked

According to Sylvie Beaumont, the citizens of Alma have been in shock since the announcement of her death.

“It was their Michel Côté, it was their representative, a great artist and humanist. People were very attached to Michel Côté. When you met him, you immediately fell under his spell. He was so endearing, generous, sensitive and kind, ”says the one who also had the chance to meet him a few times.

“I was there when we named the Michel-Côté room. He was extremely moved to receive this tribute during his lifetime. This is where we saw all its greatness. He received this with great humility. At the same time, he was so grateful to the people who had thought of this. It was in front of his family and friends. On several occasions, I was able to meet him and I felt that he was a real man.
