Death of Meat Loaf: the causes of death of the singer revealed

We now know more about the death of the former rock star meat loaf which occurred Thursday, January 20, 2022. The famous author of the cult album Bat out of Hell sold 43 million copies in 1977 was struck down by Covid at the age of 74.

As revealed TMZ, he had canceled a business dinner earlier in the week due to illness. He spent the last hours of his life with his wife Deborah who was at his bedside, as the statement posted on the singer’s page indicates: “It is with a broken heart that we announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf has left tonight, his wife Deborah by his side (…) His daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the past 24 hours.” Over the 6 long decades of his career, he had to deal with various health problems (he had notably collapsed on stage in Canada in 2016). We don’t know if he was vaccinated.

The singer with undeniable vocal qualities, and called Meat Loaf (meatloaf) in reference to his imposing stature, had sold 43 million albums in 1977 with his album Bat out of Hell. He then made a winning comeback in 1993 with the title “ I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)which won him a Grammy Award. At the same time, he had distinguished himself in cult films, such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1975, fight club by David Fincher in 1999 and made an appearance in the Spice Girls film, The Spice world, the movie.

Born in Texas, young Marvin Lee Aday, his real name, had a difficult childhood. Raised by an alcoholic father and mocked at school for being overweight, it was when his mother died of cancer that he decided to leave for New York. Meat Loaf, who then had enormous vocal potential, made a decisive encounter, that of the musician and lyricist Jim Steinman, who will write his music and lyrics for him.

A fervent Republican, he was committed to Mitt Romney against Barack Obama. He also stood up against “political correctness” by announcing that his latest album (Brave Then We Are) would “raw and politically incorrect.
