Last Friday, after a drunken evening in a nightclub in downtown Montauban, the professional rugby player Kelly Meafua is dead. By jumping into the Tarn from a bridge, he lost his life and left behind a whole club in mourning. “Kelly was a player very appreciated by all, his joie de vivre was infectious and radiant. Today we have lost a player, a friend, a brother”said his Montauban club in a press release.
Father of three children and married, Kelly Meafua also leaves a family overwhelmed with sadness. In a message posted this morning on social networks, his Montauban club made an even sadder revelation concerning the 31-year-old Samoan, since he was going to be a dad for the fourth time. “In this drama, Kelly leaves behind a family, his wife Priscilla who was expecting a baby”indicates the club, which has therefore decided to set up financial aid for the young woman: “Here is the kitty launched by his teammates to be able to support them.”
On the kitty site, we learn more about Kelly Meafua’s family life. He was to become the father ofa baby girl, due next August. “Through this kitty in France, we want to help Priscilla and her unborn baby girl in tribute to Kelly and the dad he is and would have been”says the kitty release.
