Death of Jim Carr: Justin Trudeau present at the memorial service in Winnipeg

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was among many who turned out Saturday for the memorial service held in honor of former federal cabinet minister Jim Carr, who died Dec. 12 at the age of 71.

The matinee service was held at Centennial Concert Hall, a performing arts center in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

“Jim Carr’s work was not done. Cancer took it away from us too soon. But what he has accomplished is more than most people dare ask of life. Today, we celebrate his legacy and say goodbye to our friend, ”reacted on Twitter Mr. Trudeau.

Mr. Carr served as Minister of Natural Resources under Justin Trudeau’s cabinet from 2015 to 2018, before taking charge of the Department of International Trade until 2019. He was also the Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South Center .

A private ceremony and burial took place last Wednesday.

Remember that before entering politics, Jim Carr was President and CEO of the Business Council of Manitoba.
