A 22-year-old Israeli woman with family in Canada died in Israel on the sidelines of the deadly attacks carried out by Hamas in this country on October 7. She had been sought ever since by her family, who hoped to find her alive.
Tiferet Lapidot disappeared on the morning of October 7 on the sidelines of the Supernova electronic music festival, which took place in a desert area in southern Israel, less than 5 km from the border with the Gaza Strip. The site was transformed that morning into a site of carnage by the militant group Hamas, which killed more than 250 festival-goers.
The family of Tiferet Lapidot, some members of which have Canadian nationality, for their part remained hopeful that the young woman would be found alive. “We hope she was kidnapped and alive,” confided to Duty last week his cousin, Oran Lapidot, who lives in Montreal. The Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, for her part, confirmed in a press scrum the sixth death of a Canadian in Israel, on the sidelines of the deadly Hamas attacks carried out on October 7. The identity of the victim has not been released.
