He had just celebrated his 36th candle. This Thursday, June 1, 2023, Guillaume Bats breathed his last. It was on Facebook that Dark Smile Productions, its production company, shared this sad news: “It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the death on Thursday […] of Guillaume Bats, our great friend and brother at heart and on stage. Everyone close to him that we have been able to identify has been notified, we apologize in advance to anyone who learns of it through this message.

A native of Reims, the actor suffered from brittle bone disease. However, Guillaume Bats has always honored his disability with humor and self-mockery. Much appreciated by the public, Guillaume Bats was to present everywhere in France his new show called “Inshallah”. During his career, the main interested party has also worked with great figures of the 7ᵉ art. Like Jean-Marie Bigard, Anthony Kavanagh or Jérémy Ferrari who co-wrote his last one-man-show.

The day after his disappearance, his faithful friend came out of his silence to respond to certain rumors. “Since last night I have received thousands of messages of support and some more or less funny jokes. Many of you ask me what happened”explains Jéremy Ferrari in an Instagram post relayed this Friday, June 2, 2023. And to go one better with a heavy heart: “Guillaume was to give a conference yesterday at 7:30 p.m., he did not show up and did not answer our calls”.

Worried and taken aback, the latter ended up arriving at Guillaume Bats: “I went to his house and found him deceased in his bed, probably in his sleep, but this has yet to be confirmed by the doctors.” Shocked, Jéremy Ferrari also saluted the memory of his sidekick: “Guillaume was my little brother and I liked that we focus on him, his talent, his courage, his strength, his light. As for me, I will follow his example and from tomorrow, despite the pain, I will continue to try to make you laugh the best I can […]”.
