French writer and poet Christian Bobin has died, his publisher Gallimard announced. He was 71 years old.
In a message shared Friday morning on Twitter, Éditions Gallimard expressed their “infinite sadness” to announce the death of the writer.
“We share the immense pain of his family and loved ones,” wrote the publishing house.
She did not give details of the cause of her death.
Christian Bobin was born in 1951 in Creusot, in eastern France. After studying philosophy, his first texts appeared in the 1980s, according to his biography on the website of the publishing house L’Iconoclaste.
He rose to prominence in the early 1990s with A party dress and The Most Lowwhich earned him a Prix des Deux Magots.
