It was in July 2013, just 9 years ago. Frank Geneyknown for starring in the series The group, died suddenly at the age of 34. The actor had suffered a cardiac arrest. Many years later, Sandra Lou, who gave him the reply in the soap opera, delivers some memories of the time in the podcast Sericonicof TV 7 Days.
The now 41-year-old starlet had a hard time believing Frank Geney was missing. “It was awful“, she confides. And to evoke the circumstances of the death of her friend and fellow filmmaker: “You never expect to lose someone young, ever. And that broke the band of six a bit. We are only five. And above all, it’s terrible what I’m going to say, but we wondered ‘Ok, who will be next?’ We know that, inevitably, it will happen at some point. And we know that each of us will go to the funeral of one or the other. Because we are so close to each other that we will go.“
Moreover, she went a week after the tragedy to the funeral of Frank Geney, in the same way as other relatives of the deceased. During this moment when everyone had to say goodbye to the actor, Sandra Lou remembers a scene that was epic to say the least. “There was a whole row with all his exes who were there, she says. There were lots of little chicks that we knew and who all looked at each other like ‘Ah, you too?’ It was a little embarrassing, but in the end, the parents turned it into a joke…“
Something to relax the atmosphere, especially since everyone was upset by the sudden death of Frank Geney. Sandra Lou even remembers how she learned of the death of the star: it was Jérémy Michalak who had been responsible for telling him the bad news. “I thought he was giving me yet another joke, because he was really very boring with his shitty jokes, she confides. Very quickly, I understood that not. Because he was very moved and started to cry. And it was hard because it’s accidental and radical. And then it’s too young, much too young.” Sad truth…
