Death of Elizabeth II: Princess Anne devastated behind the coffin of her mother, Charles III with tears in her eyes

She is a princess who has always liked discretion: the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne, 72, is not the type to flaunt her feelings in front of the British press. But this Sunday is not a day like the others: the little sister of King Charles III took his place in a car following his mother’s funeral procession through Scotlandand seemed very touched.

The face turned towards the window, surely looking at the very many tributes of the public massed at the edge of the road, the septuagenarian seemed literally collapsed, tears in her eyes and showed a side of her to the people that she almost never shows. Even the day before, in front of all the tributes deposited at the foot of the church of Balmoral by the public, she had remained very dignified, while other members of the family had collapsed in tears, like her daughter Zara in particular, or his nieces Eugenie, Beatrice and Louise.

But this time, seeing his mother leave for the last time this domain that she loved so much, Princess Anne cracked up a bit, fortunately supported by Timothy Laurence, her second husband, who accompanies her on such a difficult day. It is not known, however, if her children and her brothers will join her in Edinburgh this evening, or this Monday: a religious ceremony should take place there in the presence of various members of the royal family including, of course, King Charles III.

Charles, moved, in his first steps as king

This one, for the moment, has remained in London and was seen at Buckingham Palace this Sunday, where he was seen in a car, tears in his eyes as the crowd cheered, who has not left the front of the palace since the formalization of his title of king. A beautiful emotion surely due, as for his sister, to the stakes of the day: Charles knew better than anyone how much his mother was attached to Scotland and this last trip must be a bit difficult for him too.

Which did not prevent him from fulfilling his first obligations as king: after a very moving first televised speech, where he spoke of his “beloved mom“, he then met Prime Minister Liz Truss and various members of the government, before attending the official proclamation of his title of king.

Without forgetting to try to reconcile his two sons in the meantime: this Saturday, he would have called on Prince William, the new Prince of Wales, to make efforts with his brother Harry. Result ? The eldest of the two brothers invited his younger brother and his sister-in-law Meghan Markle to meditate with him and his wife Kate Middleton in front of Windsor… An image that has toured the media around the world!
