Tributes in honor of Queen Elizabeth II have multiplied since she died at her Balmoral castle on September 8, 2022. Died at the age of 96, the sovereign was celebrated in the Kingdom United for a ten-day period of mourning, followed by a day set aside for his state funeral. His relatives were obviously present at the back of his coffin during the various processions, ceremonies and rites that punctuated this day. But His Majesty’s animals, too, made a point of telling him “goodbye“.
This is how, on the way that brought the remains of Queen Elizabeth II to the chapel of Saint-Georges, some were able to recognize Muick and Sandy, the corgis of the wife of Prince Philip. Emma, the royal pony, was also quietly waiting for her mistress’s coffin to pass. Accompanied by the butler Terry Pendry, the animal had given an adorable wink to the deceased. On her saddle, the most expert eyes will have noticed one of Elizabeth’s favorite scarves. She had notably been photographed with this accessory, in 2015, while she was riding in Windsor Great Park.
