This angel’s voice reached the stars much too soon. On August 6, 2022, Daniel Levi lost his battle against colorectal cancer which he had been trying to overcome for 3 years. Impossible to forget the kindness, the talent. Recently rediscovered on the show Mask Singerdisguised as a robot, the 60-year-old singer had particularly touched the public in the heart, in the 2000s, by playing Moses in the musical The ten Commandmentswritten by Lionel Florence and Patrice Guirao, directed by Élie Chouraqui and composed by Pascal Obispo.
This explains why everyone met, on November 7, 2022, to pay tribute to him on the stage of the Théâtre Mogador in Paris. A gala evening was actually organized for the benefit of the Daniel Lévi association. The troupe of Ten Commandments – Ginie Line, Pedro Alves, Lisbet Guldbaek, Ahmed Mouicia… – has was thus reunited, in his honor, and therefore met Pascal Obispo as well as many artists for an evening as moving as it is full of musical gifts. Enrico Macias, Amir, Julie Zenatti, Frédéric Zeitoun, Patrice Carmona, Patrick Fiori, Patrick Bruel, Gad Elmaleh and Sandrine Aboukrat Levi, the widow of Daniel Levi and mother of their granddaughter Nessyel, born on 15 July 2022, so shortly before the singer’s death.
Music is a cure, it seems. Daniel Levi was certain of this since during his care and hospitalizations, he sat at the piano and shared moments of happiness with the other patients. On the stage of the Théâtre Mogador, singers and singers took over his repertoire. All the benefits of this evening rich in emotions, as well as the donations made on this occasion, will be donated to the Daniel Levi association. Every year, from now on, an evening and a call for donations will be given to raise funds which will be used to buy pianos. They will then be placed in a musical space created in memory of Daniel Lévi in all hospitals in France. Musical entertainment around these pianos will take place all year round, provided by artists.
