Alain Delon’s dog, Loubo, will ultimately not be euthanized after the death of his master, France Inter learned on Tuesday, August 20, from the Brigitte Bardot Foundation. In an interview with Paris Match in 2018, the actor had stated that he wanted his Malinois to be euthanized at the time of his death. “If I die before him, I’ll ask the vet to let us leave together. He’ll put him down so he dies in my arms. I’d rather do that than know he’ll die on my grave in such pain.”declared Alain Delon. This statement had provoked the mobilization of several associations, including the SPA and 30 million friends.

The 11-year-old dog will ultimately remain alive, with Alain Delon’s children, reports the foundation of the actor’s great friend, Brigitte Bardot. The animal rights association has obtained assurances from the Delon family that Loubo will continue to live in their house in Douchy, in the Loiret. Alain Delon had also adopted his dog from the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.
