It is indeed between May 30 and June 10, 2022 that a judge will decide in particular whether there will be a trial in this case, after presentation of potential evidence in particular. The woman, of Afghan descent, has previously been charged with criminal negligence causing death and assault.

She appeared before a judge in mid-January, with the help of an interpreter, but is currently at large under certain conditions, pending further legal proceedings. A dozen witnesses will be heard during the preliminary investigation, at the request of the defense, was able to confirm Press.

Since a publication ban is in force on any information that could identify the victim, it is still not possible at this stage to reveal the identity of the accused. As for criminal negligence causing death, the facts with which he is accused allegedly occurred between December 30, 2020 and January 3, 2021, in Laval. For the count of assault, the whole thing would rather have taken place between the 1er June 2020 and January 3, 2021.

A reminder of the facts

It was on January 3, just after Christmas, that this sad affair shocked the inhabitants of the Chomedey district. The seven-year-old girl was found seriously injured and then taken to hospital. According to sources, the child’s death dated back several hours before the body was found and the wounds found on his body dated back to days before his death.

When the paramedics arrived at the scene, the girl was no longer breathing and the body was already somewhat rigid. On the spot, the police had identified six adults, all residents of the Laval home in question.

According to our information, several adults from the same family were staying there. The girl’s death was pronounced at the hospital. Our sources said the girl had second degree burns on about 80% of her body. It would have been doused with boiling water or put in a boiling bath. Her body also had several bruises and she had one arm in a cast. She would have gone to the hospital to receive this plaster cast, a few days before her death.

In addition, before her death, the seven-year-old girl had been absent from her primary school for a few months, confirmed sources familiar with the matter.

The child was living with a behavioral disorder that caused severe seizures. A report was made to the DPJ, but not for mistreatment. It concerned the behavioral disorder of the child.
