Deadly shooting in Anjou | The victim was a young rapper

The young man who lost his life in a shooting in Montreal on Thursday was a rapper known as Dzfromthed. The investigation is still ongoing to shed light on the events.

Hani Ouahdi, the 20-year-old young man who was found in a car in the Anjou borough on Thursday evening after being the victim of a shooting, is known to the rap scene in Montreal. His artist name was Dzfromthed.

The message “My brother rest in peace” was posted on the Acturap_Mtl Instagram page on Friday.

Recall that at around 7:15 p.m. Thursday, the police officers of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) were called for gunfire in the eastern district of Montreal. The event took place on Place Cointerel, near the corner of rue de la Roseraie.

Hani Ouahdi was found in a vehicle with severe gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, Thursday night to Friday. He had no criminal record and was not known to law enforcement circles.

A 17-year-old boy was also in the vehicle at the time of the shooting. Wounded in the upper body, he fled the scene and asked for help at a nearby convenience store, on Boulevard des Galeries d’Anjou. He was taken to hospital and his health is stable. This second victim was known to the police and is collaborating in the investigation.

Few details were released regarding the motive for the assaults. The investigation of the major crimes division of the SPVM is still underway to shed light on the events.
