Deadly shooting at Georgia high school, suspect arrested

Students at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, were gathered on the football field in panic and confusion on Wednesday, September 4. Minutes earlier, a gunman opened fire inside the school, killing and injuring several others. A suspect has since been arrested by law enforcement.

Very quickly, a major security operation was deployed around the high school, which was even subjected to a temporary lockdown. Investigations are only just beginning to determine the exact identity of the shooter and his motivations. The United States has once again been hit by a school shooter.
