Flames are ravaging the Valparaiso region in Chile, in dozens of deadly and very violent fires that have broken out in recent days. They are fueled by heat waves and strong gusts of wind. Although the results are not definitive, the flames have already killed more than 64 people.
A fast and intense fire
In many neighborhoods, residents were unable to flee. “The fire was first on the other side and in ten to fifteen minutes, the flames were at our house and there were embers falling, which burned everything,” says a man. “The heat was unbearable, we couldn’t see anything .Everything went black.“
