Following the terrible fire that occurred on Monday February 6 in the Aisne, in which eight members of the same family died, the inhabitants are still very affected. Psychological support has been put in place at school and college.

At the foot of the facade blackened by flames, candles and flowers have been placed in memory of the mother and her seven children, disappeared in a deadly fire, Monday, February 6. In the aftermath of the tragedy, everyone tries to overcome their pain. In front of the school in the town of Charly-sur-Marne (Aisne), where one of the victims was educated, the parents are still upset, like their children. “They find it hard to imagine that they will never see her again at all”, confides a mother.

A white march in the village

The fire was as quick as it was violent. According to the first findings, the children, aged 2 to 14 years and their mother, died of asphyxiation by the fumes. The father could have been extracted by a neighbor, seriously burned but alive. In the cafe where he had his habits, photos of the family and a kitty was opened to support him. Relatives of the father, still hospitalized, will organize a white march on Saturday in the village.
