I am writing to you because my participation in chemotherapy treatment for cancer sometimes keeps me awake and dreamy. Here are the last daydreams that crossed my mind. I have lived for 57 years in Rouyn-Noranda, since then I have participated in the urban and rural life of this beautiful, unfortunately polluted city. Suddenly, I realize that in reality, I am being asked to be part of the solution. How to live healthily in this beautiful and immense city and not put on the street the high employees of the foundry who feed it with income? Then daydreams come back to me, the Quebec government is trying to develop profitable, ecological and sustainable niches. So why not invest in the recycling of common and rare metals…
And I suddenly dream of representatives from relevant ministries coming to sit down with employees (management, engineering, production and otherwise) from the foundry and people involved in the preservation and development of our space. All together, they agree: we must nationalize this sector of industry in order to have as constraints only our health and our environment, and the wages that we want to protect. However, all this, nationalization, is the responsibility of the government!
The phone rings, I dream, my MP wants to talk to me, he wants me to participate in order to submit this project and finally create a first link with Quebec.
