At the call of the unions, caregivers are mobilizing across France on Saturday, December 4. Live from the Ministry of Health, Sophie Lanson takes stock of their demands.
The demonstrations of caregivers are taking place all over France on Saturday 4 December. “Employees of the public and private, as well as city medicine have agreed on their demands to come and demonstrate in front of the Ministry of Health”, from which the journalist of France Televisions Sophie Lanson speaks live on Saturday noon. All are at their wit’s end, they have been facing an overload of work and extended hours for years.
As the Covid-19 variant Omicron arrives in France, they demand a strong health system: “A drop in the caregiver / patient ratio, a 10% increase in remuneration and an upgrading of night guards”, lists Sophie Lanson. Caregivers demand to reopen negotiations. They will be received at 3 p.m. at the Ministry of Health, but are already calling for demonstrations again on Tuesday 7 and Saturday 11 December.
