Members of the Lauzon Shipyard Workers’ Union have adopted the “historic” tentative agreement to renew their collective agreement.
The new collective agreement, in effect until June 30, 2030, provides wage increases of up to 3.5% for the first two years, with annual increases of 2.5%.
Under the terms of the agreement, double time is reintroduced and the holiday closure will be paid in full, while the calculation of continuous service will be from the date of hire rather than the number of hours. worked for vacation accumulation.
“The impeccable mobilization of the members and their unfailing support have enabled us to achieve our objectives and obtain a major salary catch-up”, explained in a press release Jean Blanchette, the president of the union, on Wednesday.
