Nearly 30,000 people gathered on the evening of Saturday June 29 at the Château de Chambord (Loir-et-Cher) to attend the show by star DJ David Guetta. He performed as part of the third edition of the Chambord Live festival, after Sting in 2022 and Imagine Dragons in September.

Shortly after 10 p.m., the 56-year-old DJ starts his show with his hits including Sexy Bitch, Memories or Satisfactiona remix of Benny Benassi, with impressive visual and pyrotechnic effects, arousing the enthusiasm of the crowd. But around 11:00 p.m., the rain starts, and the audience is forced to take out umbrellas and raincoats.

A little later, the rain causes a breakdown in one of the DJ’s two turntables, who continues despite everything: “CThat’s not going to stop us!“, he says to the crowd, which is dripping but remains fervent. The show, lasting 1 hour 45 minutes, concluded around midnight with fireworks.

Before the show, the DJ, who was returning from a series of dates in Ibiza, had expressed his impatience to perform in the very special setting of the Château de Chambord.Every time I play in France, I feel a special emotion. I tremble as if it were my first concert. Here, the castle is incredible. I just climbed the double-revolution staircase designed by Leonardo da Vinci. It’s very moving. Being here gives us all energy and positivity. I want people to share with me a real moment of happiness!“, he told AFP.

Spectators traveled thousands of miles to come to the concert. It deeply touches me. My music has accompanied many people’s moments of happiness. Marking moments of life, even in an anecdotal way, is a wonderful reward for an artist.“, he said.

In Chambord, as elsewhere, I bring together fans who have followed me for 22 years. But my core audience is between 18 and 22 years old. The miracle is that my music continues to speak to young people“, he said.

With her blue cap on her head, Dorothée had settled in front of the stage. This 41-year-old secretary in a home help service had travelled from Villeneuve-sur-Lot (Lot-et-Garonne) with her 16-year-old daughter. We left after my work day on Friday. We slept in the car that night. After the concert, we’ll do the same!“, smiles the mother, emphasizing that “David Guetta’s music represents the happy moments of our lives“.

For his part, Léandre, 24, a student in Cambrai (North), rushed towards the barriers to be as close as possible to his idol. “Being there, I almost cry!“, says this 24-year-old fan, who has already applauded the DJ live eight times.”I’ve been a fan since I was 8 years old. I have all his albums.” His parents offered him a place for 133 euros. They also booked two nights in a hotel in Blois in order to stay there and visit the surrounding area.

David Guetta also expressed surprise to the AFP correspondent about not having been called for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games which will take place on July 26 on the Seine in Paris.

I didn’t understand at all. Globally, I am still between the 4th and 15th most listened to artist in the world, not a DJ artist. To give you an idea, Beyoncé must be 40th or 50th. But no one called me. And yet I am French and I love France. It’s like that !“, he added.
