(Los Angeles) Rising American star David Corenswet will be the next actor to put on the red Superman cape, the director of the next installment of the saga, James Gunn, confirmed on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old American has become known for his roles in several successful series, including Hollywood And The Politician on Netflix, We Own This City on HBO and Pearl on Universal.
David Corenswet will take on the mythical role of superhero this time in Superman: Legacyproduced by Warner Bros studios for 2025.
The news was first reported by specialized Hollywood media, also revealing in passing that Rachel Brosnahan, title role in the series The Marvelous Mrs. Maiselwas cast as Superman’s love interest, journalist Lois Lane.

Before him, actors Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh and more recently Henry Cavill have played Superman on the big screen – one of the most valued roles in Hollywood.
Last year, Warner Bros commissioned the duo formed by the director of Guardians of the Galaxy James Gunn and the producerAquaman Peter Safran to revive the superhero films of the DC Comics franchise, with the aim of energizing it in the face of fierce competition from Marvel.
