This is the event of the evening on TF1 since the channel will offer a TV movie returning to one of the most significant news stories of recent years in France. With The Daval mystery, the private channel tackles a story that moved the French and will now be more than five years old. At the end of October 2017, we learned of the disappearance ofAlexia Fouillot, a young woman found partially charred a few kilometers from her home, located in Gray-la-Ville in Haute-Saône. While he was initially cleared of suspicion by the investigators, her husband ultimately proves guilty of the murder.
After publicly mourning Alexia’s death, Jonathan Daval was eventually arrested and taken into custody. If at first he denies the facts, he will end up confessing to the murder of his wife, a few months later. Today in prison, the 38-year-old man is serving a 25-year prison sentence, with no additional security period. In this very sad story, the couple also owned a house and for a long time, the family of Alexia Fouillot, her parents in mind, opposed Jonathann Daval concerning the fate of the latter.
Alexia’s parents and sister obtain compensation
The latter disputed the request of his wife’s family, who wanted to recover the entire property. He wanted to get 50% of it, but the justice ended up deciding last June, proving Alexia’s parents right. The verdict was clear in this case and Alexia’s parents and sister are therefore the only heirs to this house estimated at 170,000 euros. In fact, the Fouillot will be reserved a large part of this sum by Jonathann Daval, since it will be used to pay the damages (160,000 euros) that the latter owes them, according to his conviction at the assizes. Indeed, originally the assassin and ex-husband of Alexia owned half of the shares of the house, before receiving the other half after the death of his wife, but this is no longer the case.
Now behind bars, Jonathan Daval must therefore serve a 25-year prison sentence before he can be released.
