Daughters of Murdered Indigenous Man Call on Ottawa to Take Action

The daughters of an aboriginal man who was allegedly the victim of a serial killer in Manitoba were on Parliament Hill on Tuesday morning to call on the federal government to act.

Police believe Morgan Harris and three other Indigenous women in Winnipeg were murdered by the same man, who has been charged with four counts of first degree murder.

Winnipeg police also said three of the bodies of the victims may be in a dump, but they don’t plan to search the dump because the search area would be too wide.

Morgan Harris’ daughters Cambria and Kera say the government must end violence against Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit people.

The chief of the Long Plain First Nation, where two of the four victims are from, is asking for resources for her community, such as a safe space for women that would be open at all times.

Ms Harris’s daughters also say that if the police don’t carry out a search to find their mother, they will.
