The Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, a sanctuary for tropical animals, welcomed in August 2020, five gray parrots from Gabon: Billy, Elsie, Eric, Jade and Tyson. With the pandemic, many owners gave their birds to the park. They were placed in quarantine before joining 250 congeners already present there.
Everything was going well, but very quickly, the owner of the park noticed that the new ones encouraged each other to pronounce the names of birds… to swear “like carters”! The healers had heard parrots saying bad words before, but five at once, throwing “fuck off!” Permanently, that was a lot. Especially since visibly, it burst them.
