(Arlington) Danny Jansen hit his third home run in two games as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Texas Rangers 2-1 on Friday.
Jansen hit his ninth homer of the season in the fifth, after a walk to Matt Chapman.
Leody Taveras, Texas’ ninth batter, had hit a solo homer two innings earlier.
Jansen had hit two solo home runs the day before in Baltimore.
It is six cannon shots for 12 meetings.
Kevin Gausman (6-3) gave up just one run and four hits in six innings, striking out four batters.
In the sixth he gave a double and a walk to the first two batters, before going for three straight outs.
Gausman is 4-0 since May 10, in eight outings.
The 32-year-old right-hander leads the American with 121 strikeouts.
Jordan Romano had four outs, moving to a 20e rescue.
Martin Perez (6-3) allowed two runs and three hits in six innings.
Rangers have lost seven of their last nine games.
Toronto will give Saturday’s start to a reliever, while the Rangers will delegate right-hander Dane Dunning.
