(Paris) Director Danièle Thompson, known for having co-written cult screenplays like those of The big mop Where The party, will chair the 47and Cesar ceremony at the end of February, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

To preside over the evening alongside master of ceremonies Antoine de Caunes, the Académie des Césars has chosen the 80-year-old director, a talented pen of popular cinema.
She is the daughter of Gérard Oury, with whom she worked and wrote comedies that have become cults: The big mop, Megalomania Where The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob.
We owe him Cousin, cousin (1975), The party (1980) but also Queen Margot by Patrice Chéreau (1994).
She moved on to directing in 1999 with The log, then Orchestra seats in 2006 or even The code has changed in 2009, and is working on the production of a television series on Brigitte Bardot’s youth.
The nominations for this 47and edition of the most prestigious awards in French cinema are to be announced on Wednesday. After their publication, the 4,363 cinema professionals who are members of the Academy will have one month to vote and decide between them, in 24 categories.
Last year, the Césars crowned comedy Goodbye idiots by Albert Dupontel.
