On March 30, the tone rose between Géraldine Maillet and Cyril Hanouna. That day, the host of C8 sent his columnist into the ropes with words of rare violence. “Lesson givers like you, we’re fed up! The lesson givers like you who are going to tell the French ‘You have to vote for so and so’, we’re fed up! The French, they do what they want. They are not like you with a comfortable salary, with a very good life…” he sent her that day, leaving her groggy and then wanting to leave the set immediately. On Twitter, viewers had also expressed their shock at the words of Cyril Hanouna who had according to them, “humiliated” the columnist.
The next day, faced with the outcry caused, Cyril Hanouna had stepped up to put the dots on the “i”. He had immediately reframed the novelist, reminding her of the true definition of “harassment”: “I too feel harassed by you, you know. Do you know [ce que vivent] people who are victims of bullying? It is very serious what you are saying. It’s very serious, be careful what you say because there really are people who are being harassed.”
An episode that left traces in the mind of Julie Gayet’s friend. “I found it very painful, very violent,” she says. And yet, the former model is rather lenient towards Cyril Hanouna. “It’s not easy to be the head of a family, to deal with fanatics like us. I had drunk him, I imagine. I found it unfair but was able to tell him. The chance we have is to be able to explain ourselves.“, she tells our colleagues from TV Magazine for Le Figaro.
As for Daniel Riolo, companion of Géraldine Maillet, he still keeps the pill in his throat as he confides to our colleagues. “Cyril is a guy I like but for the first time, it hurt me personally… Afterwards, it’s not my role to interfere, Géraldine wouldn’t put up with that.“, he explains.
