Daniel Paré appointed Associate Deputy Minister within the Ministry of Health

The director of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in Quebec will soon wear the hat of deputy minister associated with the Directorate General for Executive and Operational Management of the Pandemic at the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS).

The appointment of Daniel Paré was announced on Wednesday by the Legault government. He will take up his new post on March 14.

Since December 2020, Mr. Paré has been the director general of executive and operational management of the pandemic at the MSSS.

The Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, praised the work accomplished by Mr. Paré in the past year.

“Several challenges await us in the coming months, and Mr. Paré undoubtedly has the skills and expertise required to meet this new challenge. […] As director of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19, he brilliantly led this major operation and contributed to Quebec achieving an enviable rate of vaccination in the population,” commented Mr. Dubé in a press release. .

Before taking the reins of the Quebec vaccination campaign, Daniel Paré held the position of President and CEO of the Integrated Health and Social Services Center of Chaudière-Appalaches.

Holder of a master’s degree in business administration and a graduate certificate in health management from the Université de Moncton, he was also director general of the Montmagny-L’Islet health and social services center in 2009 to 2012.
