Every Friday, TF1 viewers have the pleasure of discovering a new premium of Dance with the stars 2021. If the personalities, professional dancers, jury members and presenters are the ones that are highlighted, it is thanks to a team behind the scenes that this show can work well. The producer in particular has a leading role. And the one in the program is the son of a well-known host.
He has been bathing in television since he was very young thanks to his dad. In its edition of November 1, Leisure TV conducted an interview with William Leymergie. The opportunity to recall that his son Géry has been the deputy director general in charge of content at BBC Studios for three years. He is in charge of the show Dance with the stars and Best Pastry Chef (M6). He rose through the ranks since before, he was an artistic producer, producer and then director of programs for the company.
The young man, born in 1980 from the union of William Leymergie with the late Maryline Robin was also employed for another big production company: Studio 89. This allowed him for example to work on the first two seasons of Top chef. And, before that, he was a journalist and TV host. He began his career in 2002 on Disney Channel by hosting Zapping Zone. From 2004 to 2005, it was on France 5 that viewers were able to find him as a columnist in School case. He also spoke cinema and music in Morning Cafe (M6, from 2006 to 2007). And he joined France 2 in April 2007 to present Mag 2.0.
TV, so that knows him. So when he finds the presenter of William at noon (C8), obviously, it’s about television. “Like many children of little known people, he is very modest and always wanted to fend for himself on a professional level. He works two buildings away from mine and we often have lunch together. Before, when we talked about TV, he listened to me. Now it’s the other way around!“, confided William Leymergie. Proof that he is very proud of his son who broke through, without his help.
