“Rumba la vie”, directed by Franck Dubosc, will be released in theaters on Wednesday August 24. It tells the story of a father who wants to reconnect with his abandoned daughter by learning the rumba.

Tony, an uneventful bus driver, sees his life turn upside down when he decides to find his daughter, a dance teacher, whom he abandoned at birth. The comedy, directed by Franck Dubosc, who embodies the role of the father, tackles the theme of absence with sensitivity. “I like to put a little gravity when it’s funny, and humor when it’s serious“, confides Franck Dubosc, actor and director.

rumba life is the second film directed by the actor. In 2018, his comedy Everybody stand up, attracted 2.4 million admissions in France. Beyond France, it was released in more than 19 countries. “I prefer to be a director than an actor, I know it’s the durability of my work“, assures the actor. As a bonus, the writer Michel Houellebecq played in his film. The actress Louna Espinosa, who plays the girl, overcame several challenges: in addition to dancing, she had to be credible as a teacher vis- towards the students.
