As the 18th season of ‘Let’s Dance’ kicks off on February 21 at 8:15 PM on RTL, professional dancers face a remarkable challenge: juggling a rigorous training regimen of six days a week while also managing the demands of parenthood. These dedicated performers are not just competing on the dance floor, but they are also navigating the joys and trials of raising young children.
Meet the Dancing Parents of Season 18
Among the standout couples are Patricija and Alexandru Ionel, both 30, who are no strangers to busy schedules. Married in early 2022, they are parents to three little ones: their first son, born in January 2022, and twins, a boy and a girl, born in September 2024. Eager to return to the spotlight, Patricija expressed her excitement on Instagram, stating, “I feel better than ever and am full of anticipation.” She plans to take her followers behind the scenes to showcase how they balance their busy lives.
Another talented dancer, Christina Hänni, 34, is also embracing the challenges of motherhood. A participant since 2017, she welcomed her daughter in June 2024. Christina shared her enthusiasm for her return, saying, “I now have a little fan in the background who will cheer me on, and for that, I will give it my all.” Her personal life has flourished alongside her career, as she met her husband, singer Luca Hänni, on the show, and they married in August 2023.
Renata and Valentin Lusin, both 37, are participating in this season just eleven months after welcoming their daughter. With the help of grandparents, they are able to manage their dual roles as dancers and parents. Having been together for over 20 years and married since 2014, the couple cherishes their little girl, especially after experiencing several miscarriages. Renata, who returned to the show after a two-year maternity break, shared her gratitude, saying, “I am incredibly happy and grateful that it works out this year and that I am mentally and physically ready as a mom.” She describes herself as being more relaxed and liberated since becoming a parent.
Evgeny Vinokurov, 34, is rejoining the dance competition as a father of two. After participating in 2022, he returns with a son born in October 2021 and a daughter welcomed in mid-October 2023. His journey reflects the joys of family life intertwined with his passion for dance.
Lastly, Massimo Sinató, a veteran of ‘Let’s Dance’ at 44, is in his 15th season. He and his wife Rebecca Mir, 33, welcomed their son in April 2021. Massimo recently expressed the indescribable love he feels for his family, stating, “I never thought there would be something in the world that you could love so much.” His journey on the show has deeply influenced his family life, with his only break occurring in 2021, following his initial partnership with Rebecca on the dance floor in 2012. They married in Sicily in 2015, solidifying their bond.
This season promises to be an inspiring blend of talent and heart, showcasing the incredible ability of these dancers to balance their professional and personal lives.
