It is in February 2020 that Damien Tison joined the team ofDeal done, the France 2 auction show presented by Sophie Davant. Located in the very chic sixth arrondissement of Paris, the antique dealer offers his expertise… and also benefits from this media coverage, as he explains himself during an interview granted to our colleagues from Gala.
Participating in such a program broadcast daily is life-changing. And it is not Damien Tison who will say the opposite. “When you have one or two days of filming in your week, everything is turned upside down. You really have to adapt and try to condense“, he confides. But this arrangement of schedule is worth it. “Seeing us on television makes people want to call on our expertise. They contact me more than before, he remarks. It really gives good visibility..”
And then, Deal done also changes his way of working. Caroline Margeridon’s comrade and until recently Julien Cohen, who left the program, is thus approached by viewers who wish to buy back one of the objects he acquired during the show. “Sometimes, among the two million viewers, some call me directly after the broadcast to position themselves and buy it, he says. A little over a year ago, when I bought a painting in one of the shows, I had 80 cumulative requests between emails, texts and calls. It was heartbreaking.“
Visibility, quality gain, new customers… In short, Damien Tison has won everything. A real springboard for him who already had his clientele. Becoming an antique dealer was, moreover, “An evidence“.”I always wanted to do this. I was very admiring of my dad and at the same time very curious. I always wanted to go with her, he recalls. I was able to benefit from my father’s advice, to work with him and then to take my emancipation by leaving for Paris. I finished my studies there in appraising works of art then I moved there rue du Cherche-Midi. It’s been fifteen years now.“And the adventure is not about to end!
