A departure that we did not expect. According to journalist Benoît Daragon, who officiates at ParisianDamien Thévenot will no longer be hosting Telematin from Friday March 1, 2024. The journalist, regularly confused with Cyril Féraud, had inherited the weekend editions of Telematin in August 2021, alongside Maya Lauqué. He presented them every Friday, every Saturday and every Sunday since then, but the management of France Télévisions seems to have made a new decision. Indeed, according to The Parisian, Matthieu Belliard, who a few times ago played the morning shows on Europe 1and who also officiated in C to you last year before his replacement by Lorrain Sénéchal, will now oversee those of Télématin Weekend.
“Journalist Matthieu Belliard will make his debut on Télématin next week. He will replace Damien Thévenot and will co-present the public service morning show during the weekend of March 1, alongside Maya Lauqué” assured the journalist, who did not specify whether this departure was permanent or linked to the winter holidays. Indeed, for several days, many jokers have been replacing Marie Portolano and Thomas Sotto during the week. The two holders took a few days of vacation, and are replaced by Samuel Ollivier and Johanna Ghiglia. On weekends, Maya Lauqué and Damien Thévenot are usually replaced by Adrien Rohard and Estelle Colin.
“Télématin” audiences jeopardized by “Bonjour”?
Since January 8, 2024, Telematin faces new competition, with the arrival of Bruce Toussaint on TF1. But the latter’s new show, called Good morningis far from upsetting the audiences of Telematin. The France Télévisions morning show remains imperturbable, and shakes up the audiences of the first channel, which is having difficulty establishing its new brand. This Tuesday, February 20 for example, 699,000 viewers were in front Telematinor 24.5% of the general public between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., compared to only 227,000 faithful For Good morning, or only 7.5% of market share. In a few weeks, Bruce Toussaint will exceptionally be replaced by one of his columnists during his April vacation: will the audiences be better? Which joker will face the arrival of Matthieu Belliard? Response at the end of April.
