(Dallas) Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz will miss Game 5 of the second-round series against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday due to an upper-body injury.
Stars head coach Peter DeBoer indicated after the morning skate that Radek Faksa will replace him in the lineup.
Faksa hasn’t played since Game 1 of this series on May 7, two days after scoring the deciding goal in Game 7 of the series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
A victory on Wednesday would propel the Stars to the West final for a second straight year.
Hintz scored two goals and added four assists in 11 playoff games this year. He had a goal and three assists in Game 2 against the Avalanche.
In the Stars’ 5-1 win Monday in Denver, Hintz played just six and a half minutes. He left the game after blocking a shot in the first period. He had previously received a double check from Nathan MacKinnon.
“We practically played the entire match without him [lundi], DeBoer said. It won’t be a big adjustment. With the departure of [Craig] Smith for part of the match, we played with 10 attackers at times. So, you know, we’ll have the luxury of having 12 tonight. »
