Singer with flamboyant success carried by the love of the public, Dalida, on the other hand, lived a disastrous love life marked by dramas and disappointments. In 1961, she married Lucien Morisse for the first time. A man with whom she had been in a relationship for a few years but for whom she did not really seem to have fallen in love, this one having especially worked in her beginnings when he was high placed at Europe 1. Their divorce was officially pronounced in 1962 and, the following year, she also broke up with Jean. In 1970, Dalida learns of the death of her first husband Lucien Morisse, who committed suicide by a bullet in the head, at their former Parisian residence. He was only 41 years old. The daughter of the deceased had attacked the biopic on Dalida released at the cinema in 2017, specifying then: “I want to make known my indignation by discovering the stated untruths and the misleading presentation that is made of my father in this film.“
After these two heart stories, Dalida begins a relationship with the journalist Christian de La Mazière from which she separated in 1966. Then came a brief romance with Alain Delon, her partner on the song Words, words. In 1967, she was then in a relationship with Luigi Tenco and they even plan to get married! While they are both participating in the Italian song festival of Sanremo, Luigi is stressed by the competition and consumes alcohol and tranquilizers. His performance will be deemed unsuccessful and, once returned to his hotel room, he also commits suicide with a bullet to the head; the thesis of suicide has been questioned several times, some evoking a murder without succeeding in proving it. Dalida then discovers him lifeless, bathed in blood. Completely upset, she tries a little later to end her life by taking barbiturates. Fortunately, she survives.
The same year, she meets Lucio, a young 22-year-old Italian student who gets her pregnant and, while the story does not last, she has an abortion in Italy. Very weakened psychologically, she began psychotherapy. From 1969 to 1971, she lives an affair with a married man, the philosopher and writer Arnaud Desjardins. In 1972, rebelote, she falls into the arms of another already married singer Richard Stivell. Then, it is with Richard Chanfray that she will finally live her longest storysince she will spend nine years by his side before their relationship ends in 1981. The latter commits suicide two years later, by asphyxiation.
In 1985, Dalida briefly dated doctor François Naudy, also married and who refuses to divorce. New sentimental disappointment for the star who, in 1987, redid a suicide attempt which will unfortunately be the right one this time… It is in his house in Montmartre that his body is found as well as a suicide note.
