The 5th wave of the Coronavirus and the threat of the Omicron variant push the National Rugby League to review its rules in Top 14 and Pro D2. Until then unvaccinated players had to be tested every 3 days. From now on it will be every day.
97% of players already vaccinated
The measure should not affect a lot of professional players: according to the League, 97% of Top 14 and Pro D2 players are already vaccinated. The percentage is the same for the staff in Top 14 and climbs to 99% in Pro D2. The wearing of the mask is also making a comeback “in all establishments open to the public for all subjects of the professional group, with the exception of physical periods”, specifies the league.
