Indeed, this month, the same items purchased a year ago have raised the bill by 12.4%. This is the second month in a row where the increase is in double digits, and the rise is accelerating. The sandwich bread increased by 16.9%and the ham of 11.3%. Butter exploded, with an increase in 25.6%. Consumers are forced to adapt. For dessert, prices also increase: + 11.8% for chocolate bars, and the rise is still likely to continue according to Daniel Ducrocq, director of the European distribution department of Nielsen IQ. For a few products, however, the surge seems to be calming down a bit, such as for fruit juices, which increased by 5.7%.
