Thomas Bangalter, one half of famed French electronic music duo Daft Punk, announced his orchestral solo debut album on Tuesday – and revealed his face to his fans for the first time in the form of an illustration.
Formed by French DJs Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Daft Punk have always performed on stage with headphones, including during their performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards, where they won album of the year for Random Access Memories.
The duo had published some blurry photos of their two members at the start of their career, before adopting an anonymous profile. Thomas Bangalter’s new album, Mythologiesdue out April 7 and promises to reinvent the artist’s “compositional approach,” according to the announcement.
Daft Punk announced their separation in February 2021 after 28 years of existence, then signed their return a year later, to the day, on social networks.
