On the surface, Cyril Chauquet is a rather placid 45-year-old man. But yet, he is a follower of the extreme, especially when it comes to fishing. He looks for very big fish, even huge ones, in complicated conditions. Almost 500,000 people follow his adventures on his YouTube channel, where he shows “sea monsters”. “It’s really the mysterious side”, as Cyril Chauquet says, which interests him.
Despite sometimes frightening adventures, Cyril Chauquet always respects nature by releasing all his takes. Without losing the spectacular aspect. His catches remain disproportionate and spectacular. His films fascinate fishermen, like Franck Sosa, with whom he works in particular. “Today, I am mobilizing and working with scientists to go and capture fish in order to study them better, to know them better”, explains Cyril Chauquet.
