He is unstoppable. Cyprien Sarrazin won the downhill of Kitzbühel (Austria), Friday January 19, by skiing five hundredths faster than the Italian Florian Schieder, while we were expecting a duel with the leader of the general classification, the Swiss Marco Odermatt , finally third (at 34″). After the downhill in Bormio (Italy) and the Super-G in Wengen (Switzerland), this is the third victory of the season for the 29-year-old Frenchman.

The postponement of the race by an hour, due to reduced visibility after snowfall on the Streif track, did not cool down the native of Gap. With his bib 14, he combined accuracy and power at the end of the course to become the third French skier to win the legendary Austrian Tyrol descent after Jean-Claude Killy in 1967 and Luc Alphand (three times between 1995 and 1997). Enough to allow him to come back to 26 small points behind Odermatt in the race for the small globe of the discipline, before the second speed test, Saturday.
