He is irresistible. Victorious in the first descent in Kitzbühel (Austria) on Friday, Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin did it again on Saturday January 20, and in what way. Author of a perfect race, the native of Gap outclassed the competition, relegating the leader of the big globe, Marco Odermatt, to 0”91 and Dominik Paris to 1”44 to win once again on the Streif.

The Swiss, third on Friday, thought he had struck a big blow, but his joy was short-lived when he saw the French rocket, which left just after him, cross the finish line. Today, beyond the victory there was really ‘the’ run. He was amazing, I pleasured myself from top to bottom, I felt there was speed, I took it out from the bottom of my heart. I cross the line, I turn my head and I see green and there, an explosion of joy. In the run, like in Bormio, I felt like I had done something crazy!”revealed the winner of the day at the microphone of Eurosport.

With this success, Cyprien Sarrazin comes back to six points behind Odermatt in the ranking of the small downhill globe. “He (Odermatt) I think made a few small mistakes on the flat, that’s where I had to make a little difference.”explained the Frenchman.

This is already the third World Cup downhill success this season for the Habs, winner in Bormio and therefore twice in Kitzbühel. A double which allows him to make even more history: no Frenchman has won two downhills in the same weekend since Luc Alphand in 1995 in… Kitzbühel.
