A group of ten cyclists was attacked, Sunday August 21, on a path by several hornets. The hornet’s nest was in the stump of a dead tree. Three cyclists received up to 50 injections. “They jumped on me from behind, so I fell off my bike. I was able to get back on the bike very quickly, finally I got bitten all over“, testifies Jacky Belot, one of the victims. Some hornet nests can be dangerous and must be treated. “You should know that the hornet is not very aggressive when it is far from the nest (…) on the other hand if you approach too close to the nest, in general, it is fatal, it attacks very quickly“, comments Guillaume Castagné of the company Allo hornets (Tarn-et-Garonne).
