A cyclist was killed this Monday morning, hit by a dump truck in Vigneux-sur-Seine (Essonne). The accident occurred at a busy crossroads near the Nationale 6, at the intersection of rue de la Longueraie and rue de la Bourbonnaie, at 6.30am, while it was still dark, say the Essonne firefighters.
The driver negative for alcohol and drugs
The victim, a 50-year-old woman, was on her way to work. The firefighters were unable to resuscitate her. The driver of the truck was hospitalized in shock and then taken into custody, as required by the road accident procedure. He tested negative for alcohol and drugs.
The circumstances of the accident remain to be determined, but according to the first elements of the investigation, the driver would have passed the cyclist, before falling back and overturning her.
